The Britt Municipal Building will be the site of the Britt Community Blood Drive today. The event will take place from 1pm to 6pm at 170 Main Avenue South. Those who would like to schedule an appointment can do so by calling (800) 287-4903. The LifeServe Blood Center will be sponsoring the and has a website that anyone who is interested in giving blood can also go to to set up an appointment. That web address is www.lifeservebloodcenter.org.
Organizers say that one pint of blood can save two lives and it is currently needed in several area hospitals and emergency areas.
There are requirements that organizers ask participants to follow. First, every donor must be at least 16 years old. They should weigh at least 120 pounds and they should be free of illness or disease. In other words, the donor should be in good health. Screening will be performed prior to the donor giving blood, so come early to fill out the necessary paperwork if you are a walk in. Those who set appointments will already have had the paperwork done.
