The Forest City boys track team finished 4th in Class A at the Cowboy Relays in Clarion Friday night with 99 points. Clear Lake was team champion with 117, while the host Cowboys were 2nd with 116, and Garner-Hayfield/Ventura was 3rd with 102.5. For the Indians, Grant Lehmann won the 400 and 800 meter runs, while finishing 3rd in the high jump. Chad Ullmann won the 1600 and 3200 meter runs and finished 2nd in the 800, while Tyler Putney won the Shot Put and Nick Bunger finished 2nd. The Indians also got 2nd place finishes from the distance medley and 4×200 meter relays. Garner-Hayfield/Ventura was led by Joel Toppin, who finished 2nd in the 1600. Adam Monson was 2nd in the 200 and 3rd in the long jump. Ezra Marroquin was 2nd in the 100. Braden Meints was 2nd in the high jump, while the 4×100 meter relay and the shuttle hurdle relays finished 2nd.
The Forest City girls track team ran at the Bishop Garrigan meet in Algona Friday night. For the Indians, Ali Peterson finished 2nd in both the shot put and discus, while the distance medley relay team of Shyenne Dunning, Caitlin Fjeld, Maggie Mathiasen, and Rachel Koch won with a time of 4:37.64. The 4×800 meter relay and sprint medley relay finished 2nd, while the 4×100 finished 3rd, along with McKenzie Fredrickson finishing 3rd in the 400.
