Forest City Council to Meet Tonight

The City Council of Forest City will convene to discuss with the Skott and Anderson Architects, the revised blueprint plans for the Emergency Services Center Project. The building plans had to be scaled back due to a lack of funding for the original plans. City officials met with fire and ambulatory representatives earlier on what could be cut from the project. Those recommendations were then given to the architects.

Richard Thompson will address the council on the issue of the old Police Station after the council concludes matters with the architects. Following that will be a discussion on setting a Public Hearing on the Apron Improvements at the Forest City Airport.

The council will also review the new pyrotechnics regulations and discuss the new proposed contract agreement to house stray animals within Forest City. The city is looking to begin the project shortly.

Personnel matters will concern the council as they look at several positions such a Paramedics Manager, Electric Department Manager, and an update on the search for a new City Administrator/Clerk with the recent retirement of Paul Boock.

Afterwards, the council will take a detailed look into the upcoming RAGBRAI event, including vendor fees, noise variances, concessions, and overnight stays by the participants.

The meeting will take place at City Hall beginning at 7pm.
