Two employees of the Underwood Community School District in western Iowa have been arrested, accused of fraudulently obtaining pain medication from pharmacies.
Heath and Samantha Telleen have been released from custody. They’re both facing two counts of felony prohibited acts involving a controlled substance.
Authorities say the two had used prescription pads taken from Underwood Family Practice. Authorities say false prescriptions were obtained from three pharmacy operations in Council Bluffs and some from a pharmacy or pharmacies in Nebraska.
School district records say Samantha works at the district middle school and that her husband is a social studies teacher at the high school. They didn’t immediately return a call Monday from The Associated Press. Nor did their attorney.
The district’s attorney declined to comment.
