Police Charge Esterville Man with Shooting

On Thursday, around 8 pm, the Estherville Police Department responded to a 911 Call to 2302 3rd Avenue South Lot 108 in regards to a person being shot. Upon arrival, officers located a female victim, identified as 30 year old Michaela Lynne Jordan of Estherville, with a single gunshot wound. Officers determined that Michaela Jordan was deceased upon their arrival. Responding officers were able to obtain witness statements that assisted in the case.

The police on Thursday charged 35-year-old Scott Anthony Sudbeck with first-degree murder in the killing of Michaela Lynne Jordan, of Estherville.

Estherville police say Jordan’s body was found in an Estherville home Wednesday night. Police arrested Sudbeck early Thursday. He was held in the Emmet County Jail with his bond set at $2 million.

Online court records didn’t list a lawyer for Sudbeck. Estherville is in northwest Iowa, about 25 miles northeast of Spencer.
