Police in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania say a man who was questioned regarding the slaying of two local women is a person of interest in the case.
Lieutenant Daniel Herrmann says the unidentified man agreed to be interviewed by detectives Wednesday and his house was searched. The man, who lives next door to the former home of 44-year-old Susan Wolfe and her sister, 38-year-old Sarah Wolfe, was later released but is still under investigation.
The women were found dead, each shot once in the head, on February 7th. Their sister, Mary Wolfe, is a Democratic state representative from Clinton, Iowa.
The Wolfe family issued a statement Thursday saying they appreciate “the tremendous outpouring of condolences” over the deaths, and that they’re confident the investigation will allow prosecutors to make “a solid arrest and conviction.”
