SPORTS NEWS FEBRUARY 11 2014

The Forest City girls basketball team ended their regular season with a 56-45 win over West Hancock in the North Iowa Conference finale for both schools.  Sarri Happel led a 2nd half Indian charge, as she scored 27 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.  Abby Staudt added 10 points and 7 rebounds.  Maria Gonzalez had 17 to lead West Hancock.  Other Monday girls basketball scores:

The Belmond-Klemme Broncos defeated Lake Mills 67-44 Monday night, avenging an earlier loss.  Elijah Kinseth had 21 points, with Court Christianson adding 16, and Caleb Torkelson 14. Josh Peters led Lake Mills with 10 points.  Other Monday boys basketball scores:

Regional Dual wrestling will be on KIOW tonight, as the Forest City wrestling team travels to Clear Lake to take on the Lions in regional semifinal action. The winner of the dual takes on the winner of Osage and Crestwood for a spot in the State Dual Team Tournament.  Join Steve Kappos for the live hold by hold coverage from Clear Lake at 6 pm tonight.  Following Forest City wrestling, the Lake Mills Bulldogs will travel to Manly to take on Sumner-Fredricksburg in 1A regional semifinal action.  AJ Taylor will have the hold by hold coverage following the Forest City dual.  Regional dual  meet wrestling tonight on KIOW and KIOW.com  The West Hancock girls and boys basketball teams travel to West Bend-Mallard tonight.
