The Forest City boys basketball team defeated Garner-Hayfield/Ventura 69-57 in North Iowa Conference action Monday night. Erich Erdman led the way with 36 points, while brother Ethan had 14. Braden Meints had 19 and Joel Toppin 16 for the Cardinals. Forest City travels to Mason City to take on Newman Catholic tonight. Other boys basketball score:
Nashua-Plainfield 50, Saint Ansgar 47

The Forest City girls basketball team led 12-11 after 1 quarter against Garner-Hayfield/Ventura Monday night, but the Cardinals went on a 36-10 run over the next two quarters to pull away to a 64-34 win Monday. Shelby Rayhons had 15 for the Cardinals, while Sarri Happel had 15 points for the Indians. Other girls basketball score:
Saint Ansgar 48, Nashua-Plainfield 44

The Forest City wrestling team went 2-1 at the Belmond-Klemme quadrangular Monday night. The Indians defeated Belmond-Klemme 54-24 and West Bend-Mallard 70-0, but fell to Clarion-Goldfield 53-26. For the Indians, Tyler Putney at 285, Beau Sorenson at 160, Jake Staudt at 182, and Tyler Prescott at 195 all went 3-0. Forest City wrestled Newman Catholic and Hampton-Dumont on Thursday night.
