The Forest City boys basketball team defeated West Hancock Friday night 67-52 in North Iowa Conference action. In a game heard on KIOW and B103.1, Erich Erdman led the Indians with 24 points, while Jordan True added 15.  Connor Sonius had 20 and Trevor Nalan 12 for the Eagles. Forest City is now 8-3 overall, 6-0 in the NIC, and travel to Garner to take on the Cardinals of Garner-Hayfield/Ventura tonight.  Other Friday boys basketball scores:

The Forest City girls basketball team defeated West Hancock 52-47 Friday night.  Sarri Happel had 15, Rachel Koch 14, and Maggie Mathiasen 11. Maria Gonzalez had 18 to lead the Eagles.

The Forest City wrestling team went 2-3 at the Estherville Duals, defeating Spirit Lake-Park 43-42 on criteria and Sioux City Heelan 39-36. The Indians fell to Estherville-Lincoln Central 45-30, Linn-Mar 44-30, and Blue Earth Area 57-13. For the Indians, Tyler Putney went 5-0 at 285, while Beau Sorenson at 160 went 4-1.

 

The Lake Mills wrestling team went 3-2 at the Lake Mills duals, defeating North Butler 51-25, Garner-Hayfield/Ventura 39-27, and West Hancock 66-6. They fell to Humboldt 54-24 and United South Central 46-26.  Noah Irons went 5-0 at 152, including a fall over top ranked Cody Nelson of North Butler.

 

Belmond-Klemme finished 2nd at the Wags Invitational in Ackley Saturday with 171.5 points.  Host AGWSR won with 198. Tanner Heaberlin at 132, Race Toftey at 160, Nick Raftis at 170, and Luke Worden at 285 won titles for the Broncos.

 

The Waldorf Women’s Basketball team split a pair of MCAC conference games on the road this weekend. Friday night, the Warriors rallied from a 6 point halftime deficit to defeat Central Christian College 76-71, as Brenna Brigham led a 52 point 2nd half with 18 points, while Kelsey Carpenter added 15 and Kellie Schmit had 10 points and 9 rebounds. Saturday, the Warriors fell to York College 82-54.

 

The Waldorf Men won both games on their conference swing. Friday Waldorf defeated

Central Christian 81-77.  Teddy Gibson had 25, Jordan Nelson 19, Trey Scott 12, and Erik Brewer 10.  Saturday, the Warriors defeated York College 78-70, with Nelson scoring 18, Gibson 17, Scott 15, and Brewer 14 points and 10 rebounds. Waldorf is 9-5 overall, 3-0 in the MCAC.
