Ad-Hoc Committee Says No to Police Station Bids

FC City Hall

The Forest City Council’s Ad-Hoc Committee declined two bids for the fire damaged and now abandoned Police station. The station has not been in operation for some time and the city is looking to sell the property with certain requirements attached. Kay Sorenson, Jerry Clouse, and Rich Honsey who make up the committee say that they did not like the contents of the two proposals that were forwarded to them.

The bids were accepted through a sealed bid process and had to meet certain standards which were that there was a business plan describing how the building would be used and how the fire damage would be repaired. the committee felt that both bids did not adequately accomplish those goals.

The committee reported to the council that the bids had been rejected and so the council will discuss what to do next at the next council meeting.
