Prosecutors want a judge to require that a former Mason City car sales manager pay nearly $164,000 in restitution to his former employer. Timothy Behm, who is 53 years old, was convicted of seven counts of theft. In a damages statement filed Monday, Assistant Iowa Attorney General Robert Sand asked the court to order that restitution be paid to Mason City Ford.
As part of an agreement with prosecutors, Behm agreed to a nonjury trial on the misdemeanor counts in exchange for dismissal of the charges against his father, John Behm Sr., and brother Scott Behm.
Sand says the men bought cars from Mason City Ford, where they were all employed, and then sold them back to the dealership at a higher price.
