More than 400 people shared ham, potatoes, corn, pie and other tempting offerings at the annual Christmas Day Community Dinner in Mason City.
The event rotates between various Mason City churches each year. This year’s meal was held at Trinity Lutheran Church. Joan Escher was glad for the help. She said that she’d decided to let someone else cook for her Wednesday.
Kim Pang was volunteering with his two children, 5-year-old Samantha and 11-year-old Blake. They were busy filling carryout orders. Kim Pang says “we thought we’d get an early start on giving back to the community.”
