The Garner City Council will meet Thursday in the City Hall beginning around 5:30pm to address several important issues. The first will be to review and approve submission of the Downtown Revitalization Grant Application to the Iowa Economic Development Authority for façade renovation on 16 downtown store fronts.
The second item on the agenda will be to review and approve a resolution which is a revised offer to purchase the Garner Golf and Country Club for $174,000. The council has had to make a number of revisions to the resolutions, but the final draft is now satisfactory to the council after a couple of read through sessions.
The third item on the agenda is review and approve a resolution for a $5,700 design service agreement with OPN Architects to design and remodel an addition to the Garner Public Library.
The council will then have to review and approve a change to the City’s 2014 partial self funded health insurance plan. At issue is replacing the $8/$35/$50 prescription co-pay with a 20% reimbursement allowance.
Finally the council will take into consideration and approve the hiring of Kelly white as the Deputy City Clerk.
Anyone who is interested in attending the meeting can do so and those who need special accommodations should call the city ahead of time to make sure they are arranged.
