Water Main Issues Plague Downtown

Water line

The Forest City Water Department has been very busy today according to officials. Water line issues with the unseasonable thaw today have caused crews to have to repair several lines in the area and do pressure checks on other lines.

The Water Department has been digging up and repairing a main line on Clark Street and 5th Street. The line is believed to have a leak which officials and crew are checking on. The water has not been shut off and officials say there probably won’t be a need to. Water pressure has been reduced to aid in the repairs if any to the line.

The repairs downtown are expected to be concluded later this afternoon and early evening.
