The Forest City boys basketball team defeated North Iowa 64-42 Friday in Buffalo Center.  The Indians were led by Erich Erdman’s 20 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds, while Isaiah Loeschen had 17, Ethan Erdman 12, and Jordan True 10.  Forest City is now 3-1 overall, and travels to Lake Mills Tuesday night.  The West Hancock boys defeated Osage 54-47, as Trevor Nalan had 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 steals, Connor Sonius had 14 points, 10 assists, and 8 rebounds, and Nathan Paulus had 13 points. The Forest City girls basketball team fell to North Iowa 47-42 Friday night. The Indians trailed 35-18 at the half, then outscored the Bison 14-2 in the 3rd quarter.  Rachel Koch led the way with 20 points.  Osage defeated West Hancock 55-37 Friday night. Jadee Walsh had 20 points for the Green Devils, while Emily Leerar had 8 for the Eagles.

The Forest City wrestling team finished 2nd in the Martin Family Invitational wrestling tournament in Algona Saturday, scoring 207 points. Andrew Mettry at 106, Pierce Gelhaus at 120, Beau Sorenson at 160, Alex Paulson at 220, and Tyler Putney at 285 were all champions. Spencer won the tournament with 258 points. West Hancock finished 5th with 83 points.

Belmond-Klemme went 4-1 at the West Central Valley Duals in Stuart, defeating Albila 37-27, Dallas Center-Grimes 49-24, West Central Valley 48-24, and Waukee 46-36. The Broncos fell to Collins-Maxwell-Baxter 42-40.

The Lake Mills wrestling team finished 3rd at the Husky Invitational in Nashua on Saturday. The Bulldogs scored 182 points and had Noah Irons take the title at 152 pounds.  3 other Bulldogs reached the finals. Clarksville won the tournament with 236.5 points, while Nashua-Plainfield finished 2nd with 228.

Osage won the South Winneshiek tournament with 240.5 points.  The Green Devils had 7 finalists and 5 champions.

Clear Lake won the Dick Kennedy Duals in Webster City Saturday, going 4-1.
