The Forest City Council will meet tonight to discuss the approval of licenses and permits which have been applied for and to approve payment for invoices. They will also approve city appointments and designate members of City Council Committees. They will also review the new Public Safety Center which is scheduled to begin construction soon while reviewing the possible sale of the old police station.
Another item on the agenda is the 2013 Street Resurfacing Project and the final pay estimate for the project which is around $94,123. The money will be paid out to Heartland Asphalt Company who have completed the project.
Further concerns about the property at 506 South 6th Street will be raised and addressed by the council who have been working with the landlord on either refurbishing or demolishing the fire ravaged home.
The council will then hear about the CDBG Downtown Façade Project and determine the status of the initiative. They will then address the Forest City Economic Development Project and hear from the Grow Forest City program.
The meeting is scheduled for 7pm at the City Hall Chambers tonight.
