A farewell party for Forest City Councilmembers Kay Sorensen and Rich Honsey was held Monday afternoon in the Council Chambers of City Hall. the two councilmembers are leaving the council after very successful careers as councilmembers.
Sorensen has been with the Forest City Council since 1994 and has seen a number of strong initiatives to move the city forward and to revitalize downtown.
Honsey joined the council in 2009 and has had a tremendous impact on policy towards the betterment of the city. Many in the council chambers we talked with said that they will be sorely missed, but that they wished them well. The remaining councilmembers publicly thanked Sorensen and Honsey for their many years of service to the citizens of Forest City.
