The 4th annual Christmas Celebration on Main Street was a success. Merchants along Main Street observed that there were more people attending the event than last year. Business owners served chili, roasted nuts, popcorn and kettle corn. Children got the chance to do some turkey bowling where they would attempt to knock down bowling pins with a frozen turkey.
The wind chill was in the single digits, but that did not stop people from venturing out into the cold and visiting open businesses when they got too cold. Business owners said they saw a significant increase in foot traffic and had planned for the possibility with various specials such as buy one item and get two free.
Organizers labeled the event as a success overall and will go back to work on what worked this year and what didn’t and apply the successes to next years event.
