The Forest City Wrestling team fell to Mason City and Osage in dual meet action Tuesday night in Forest City.  The Indians fell to rival Osage 39-37, as they got falls from Alex Paulson at 220, Blake Jacobs at 113, and Jake Staudt at 170.  Against the Mohawks, Forest City jumped out to a 22-0 lead, before falling 37-34.  Pins came from Paulson, Andrew Mettry at 106, Staudt at 170, and Tyler Prescott at 182.  Osage defeated Mason City 39-34 in the other dual.

The West Hancock girls basketball team fell to Garner-Hayfield/Ventura in the North Iowa Conference opener for both squads 66-30. The loss snaps a 47 game conference winning streak that dates back to 2010 for the Eagles.  Mackenzie Haag had 13 and Emily Spilman 10 for the Cardinals, while Maria Gonzalez had 8 for the Eagles. West Hancock is now 1-4, and travels to Osage Friday night.  Other girls basketball scores:

The West Hancock boys basketball team fell to Garner-Hayfield/Ventura 87-61 Tuesday night.
Braden Meints had 23 points to lead the Cardinals, while Joel Toppin had 19, Luke Wolf 14, and Logan Ryerson 10.  Trevor Nalan had 13, Connor Sonius and Nate Paulus 12 each, and Ricky Ibarra and Jacob Hejlik 10 each for the Eagles.  Other boys basketball scores:
