Waldorf College is set to expand its athletic programs with the addition of women’s and men’s indoor track and outdoor track &field beginning in fall of 2014. The addition of track and field will run in conjuction with the college’s third phase of upgrades to their athletic facilities through a shared services agreement with the city of Forest City, the Hanson Foundation, and the Forest City High School.
Over the past three years, Waldorf has installed artificial turf on Bolstorff Field where the football and soccer teams play. The baseball and softball fields were also converted to artificial turf. The third and final phase will include installing an eight lane track around Bolstorff Field, areas for field events, as well as upgrades to the concessions facilities.
Since 2010, the college has added men’s and women’s cross country, women’s and men’s bowling, women’s wrestling, and men’s ice hockey. When track and field are added, it will bring to 20 the number of athletic programs of which 19 are competing at the NAIA level.
