THE LAKE MILLS VOLLEYBALL TEAM DEFEATED NORTH UNION 3 SETS TO NONE FRIDAY NIGHT IN THE 2A REGIONAL SEMIFINALS.  SET SCORES WERE 25-15, 25-18, 25-16.  BROOKE HAGEN LED THE BULLDOGS WITH 32 ASSISTS, WHILE RACHEL SEGURA HAD 12 KILLS, MORGAN CHRISTENSON AND MADISON SHIFFLET HAD 9 KILLS APIECE.  THE BULLDOGS ADVANCE TO PLAY 2ND RANKED WESTERN CHRISTIAN WEDNESDAY NIGHT IN MILFORD. SATURDAY, THE STATE CROSS COUNTRY MEET TOOK PLACE AT KENNEDY PARK COUNTRY CLUB NORTH OF FORT DODGE.  FOREST CITY’S CHAD ULLMANN FINISHED 29TH IN THE 2A BOYS RACE IN 17:14.  TYLER RANDALL LED THE OSAGE GREEN DEVILS TO A 10TH PLACE TEAM FINISH WITH A 15TH PLACE RUN OF 16:43.  IN THE CLASS 1A BOYS RACE, WEST FORK FINISHED 2ND WITH 119 POINTS, WHILE PEYTON TWEDT FINISHED 2ND INDIVIDUALLY IN 16:37.  OTHER 1A AREA FINISHERS INCLUDED SCOTT AAMODT OF LAKE MILLS FINISHING 13TH IN 17:04, AND CONNOR SMITH OF NORTH IOWA WAS 20TH IN 17:18.  IN 1A GIRLS, NEWMAN CATHOLIC FINISHED 13TH AS A TEAM WITH 272 POINTS, WHILE NORTH IOWA WAS 14TH WITH 298 POINTS.  ELIZABETH HENRICH LED NEWMAN WITH A 29TH PLACE FINISH IN 16:01, WHILE NORTH IOWA WAS LED BY MADISON BLODGETT’S 37TH PLACE FINISH IN 16:13.  IN 3A BOYS, CHASE SMITH OF GARNER-HAYFIELD/VENTURA WAS 7TH IN 16:15, WHILE TEAMMATE JOEL TOPPIN WAS 29TH IN 16:58.  ANTONIO DIMARCO OF CLEAR LAKE WAS 31ST IN 17:02.  CHARLES CITY FINISHED 2ND IN THE TEAM RACE WITH 82 POINTS, WHILE ALGONA HIGH WAS 5TH WITH 148.

 

THE WALDORF FOOTBALL TEAM FELL TO GRAND VIEW UNIVERSITY IN THEIR HOMECOMING GAME 70-14 SATURDAY AFTERNOON. IN A GAME HEARD ON B103.1, THE WARRIORS GOT A 92 YARD FUMBLE RECOVERY FROM CHRIS SALINAS, WHILE SAM FISK CONNECTED ON AN 11 YARD TOUCHDOWN PASS WITH ADAM ISAACSON.  WALDORF IS NOW 1-8 OVERALL.

 

THE WALDORF VOLLEYBALL TEAM SWEPT COLLEGE OF SAINT MARY’S IN THEIR HOME FINALE SATURDAY, 3 SETS TO NONE.  SET SCORES WERE 25-15, 25-18, 25-17.  WALDORF GOT 15 KILLS FROM ABY EMIRU AND 12 KILLS FROM MEGAN MACIAS.   WALDORF FINISHED THE REGULAR SEASON AT 23-22, AND 8-3 IN THE MCAC.  THE WARRIORS END THEIR REGULAR SEASON AT 16TH RANKED BELLEVUE UNIVERSITY ON SATURDAY.

 

THE WALDORF WOMEN’S SOCCER TEAM DEFEATED BELLEVUE 1-0 SATURDAY AT BOLSTORFF FIELD.  MIA CRAIL-YUSIF HAD THE WARRIOR’S GOAL AT 27:54 OF THE FIRST HALF.  GOALKEEPER KAYLEE VITALE STOPPED 10 SHOTS IN GOAL.  WALDORF IS NOW 9-8-1 OVERALL, 4-2 IN THE MCAC.
